This Sales Manager role exists to own revenue execution at the state level, develop high-performing sales teams, and ensure disciplined sales operations across both mature and emerging markets.

*Role Overview*

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales execution within a defined state (California or New York), while serving as a player-coachresponsible for both team performance and direct revenue contribution.

This role owns:

* State-level revenue targets
* Sales team execution and accountability
* Forecasting accuracy and CRM discipline
* Customer experience and margin protection

The emphasis differs by state, but the expectation of ownership, accountability, and execution excellence remains the same.

State-Specific Focus

California (Flagship Market)

* Optimize and expand an established book of business
* Protect and improve gross margin at scale
* Drive forecast accuracy to support production and procurement
* Manage complex, high-volume accounts and negotiations

New York (Emerging Market)

* Establish LEEF’s wholesale presence and credibility
* Open new accounts and build foundational relationships
* Develop repeatable pipeline and early forecasting discipline
* Act as a visible, trusted on-the-ground leader for the brand

*Key Responsibilities*

1. Team Leadership & Performance Management

Lead, coach, and manage B2B Sales Representatives within the assigned state

Set clear expectations for:

* Activity levels
* Pipeline coverage
* Quota attainment
* CRM compliance

Conduct weekly 1:1s and team meetings to review:

* Revenue vs quota
* Forecast accuracy
* Pipeline health
* Key wins, risks, and blockers

Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent as the market scales

2. Revenue Ownership & Quota Delivery

Own state-level revenue targets and ensure consistent attainment

Personally manage key strategic accounts and high-impact opportunities

Balance:

* New account acquisition
* Existing account expansion

Ensure disciplined pricing and deal structures aligned with margin targets

3. Pipeline, CRM & Forecast Discipline

Enforce 100% CRM usage and compliance across the sales team

Review and validate deal stages, forecasts, and account notes

Deliver accurate weekly and monthly forecasts to the CRO

Track and improve:

* Sample-to-order conversion
* Close rates
* Account retention and expansion

4. Account Strategy & Customer Experience

Serve as escalation point for key accounts and complex negotiations

Ensure LEEF’s Keep It 2.0 customer service standard is consistently met

Support reps in structuring long-term, profitable partnerships

Maintain strong relationships with priority brands, manufacturers, and operators

5. Cross-Functional Alignment

Partner closely with Inside Sales to ensure coverage and responsiveness

Collaborate with:

* Production (capacity and scheduling)
* Procurement (input planning)
* Compliance & logistics (testing, delivery, execution)

Align sales demand with operational realities to support predictable execution

6. Market Intelligence & Strategic Feedback

Monitor market dynamics, pricing trends, and competitive behavior

Leverage tools such as Headset and internal reporting

Provide leadership with field-driven insights on:

* Product demand
* Competitive threats
* Market opportunities

Execute company Go-To-Market strategy at the state level

What We’re Looking For

* *3–5+ years of B2B cannabis sales experience* (state-specific experience strongly preferred)
* *1–3+ years of sales leadership or team-lead experience*
* Proven ability to manage:
* Quotas
* Pipelines
* People
* Strong understanding of pricing, margin, and volume tradeoffs
* CRM-driven operator (Monday.com)
* Comfortable operating independently with high accountability
* Willingness to travel (~40–60%)

Compensation Structure

Base salary + commission

Performance bonuses tied to:
