Prestige Transport / PT Freight Solutions is seeking an experienced Independent Freight Agent who is ready to grow and develop new business! The Freight Agent acts as a point of contact with our clients in order to secure new accounts, expedite sharing of information, communicate with dispatchers and drivers to track the status of loads, and negotiate contracts in a way that maximizes profits.
Top applicants will be customer-oriented and effective in attracting new clients while retaining current clients. Earnings are commission-based.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads and attract new prospects to develop a sales pipeline.
- Book orders and provide customers with shipping quotes.
- Keep accurate records of relevant activities.
- Update clients on status of shipments and other inquiries.
- Keep up-to-date with current knowledge and trends in the transportation marketplace.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Outstanding people, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate ability to meet sales targets.
- Established book of business is preferred.
