Highland Cabinetry Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Freight Agent to join our dynamic team. As a Freight Agent, you will play a crucial role in managing the transportation and logistics operations for our clients. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick up according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, strap, label and ship)
• Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Coordinate and manage freight shipments, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries
• Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more)
• Track and monitor shipment progress, providing regular updates to clients
• Resolve any transportation or logistical issues that may arise during transit
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Freight Agent or in a similar role is highly preferred
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of freight transportation regulations and industry practices
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus
