Highland Cabinetry Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Freight Agent to join our dynamic team. As a Freight Agent, you will play a crucial role in managing the transportation and logistics operations for our clients. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick up according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, strap, label and ship)
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate and manage freight shipments, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries
- Ability to lift heavy objects 50lbs +
- Track and monitor shipment progress, providing regular updates to clients
- Resolve any transportation or logistical issues that may arise during transit
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Freight Agent or in a similar role is highly preferred
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of freight transportation regulations and industry practices
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
