Overview
This is a 1099 position! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with carriers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and carriers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate freight movement.
• Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure competitive pricing for clients.
• Manage the logistics process from start to finish, including transportation planning and execution.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS)
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth in carrier sales and customer acquisition.

Skills

• Proficiency in transportation management software.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics operations.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with carriers.
• Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) to foster long-term partnerships.
• Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
• A background in sales is advantageous, enhancing the ability to drive business growth.

Applicants with an existing book of business will be strongly considered. Commission structure negotiable and we plan to expand rapidly!

Pay: $35,000.00 – $83,433.00 per year

Compensation Package:

• 1099 contract
• Bonus opportunities
• Commission only
• Uncapped commission

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• On call
