POSITION SUMMARY:

The overall responsibility of this position is to work in direct support of daily sales, and customer service activities. It is the Sales Representative’s responsibility to schedule and coordinate transportation for shipments across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico for multiple transportation platforms i.e. flat bed, truckload, expedite. It is a very fast paced role and requires both strong interpersonal skills and organization to be successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in direct support of our customers transportation needs.
• Master the daily management and support of customer freight and partner carriers.
• Daily scheduling and price negotiation with our partner carriers.
• Relationship development across our partner carrier base of both approved and new carriers.
• Routine follow-up activities on trucking activities ensuring delivery is made on-time and at cost targets.
• Prompt updates to the customer and internal team of any carrier issues.
• Posting freight on internet freight boards and vetting of new partner carriers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• Professional Customer Service experience is a strong plus
• Experience in the logistics/transportation industry is a strong plus
• The ability to bring a developed and current book of business ideal
