FLI Truckload Broker – Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Truckload Broker to add to our growing team. You will work closely with other Truckload Brokers in order to provide the best possible service to all FLI customers. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day needs of a core group of accounts assigned to you.

What you’ll be doing:

 Source and develop new carrier relationships while maintaining strong working relationships with the existing carrier base

 Negotiate and arrange the transport of goods with freight carriers

 Determine method of shipment to best suit customers need

 Prepare and provide all necessary shipping documents to customers and consignees

 Notify consignees of arrival of freight and arrange for delivery

 Manage the entire process from pickup to delivery by tracking the status of the freight and continually communicating with customer and/or consignee until successful delivery

 Prepares spreadsheets and reports for internal and external customers as needed

 Identify any issues, potential issues, or service failures and immediately address these with your direct supervisor to maintain a proactive approach and uphold FLI’s commitment to unparalleled customer service and satisfaction

 Additional duties as needed

What you’ll need to do it:

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

 The ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively and efficiently with a sense of urgency

 Must work effectively in an office and team-oriented environment

 Previous truckload brokerage or transportation management experience
