Job Description

As an Import Customs Brokerage Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the importation of goods into the United States while ensuring compliance with all customs regulations and requirements. You will work closely with our clients, customs officials, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance on import customs regulations, duties, and taxes.
• Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation, including import declarations, commercial invoices, and other required documents.
• Coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with customs regulations.
• Collaborate with customs officials, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to resolve any customs-related issues or delays.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and communicate the impact of these changes to relevant parties.
• Maintain accurate records of import transactions, including customs entries, duty payments, and customs clearance documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to optimize customs brokerage operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in import customs brokerage or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and customs clearance processes.
• Strong understanding of Incoterms and international trade terms.
• Proficiency in using customs brokerage software and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, customs officials, and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Salary & Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
