Position Summary:
The Freight Agent role is a commission-based, independent contractor position focused on managing shipper and carrier relationships to facilitate freight movement. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both shippers and carriers

Secure freight opportunities and negotiate competitive rates

Coordinate the full cycle of freight operations, from dispatch to delivery

Monitor shipments and provide proactive communication and status updates

Ensure all documentation and compliance standards are met

Continuously seek opportunities to grow your book of business

Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in freight brokerage or a related logistics role

Strong understanding of domestic transportation and freight market dynamics

Effective negotiation, organizational, and customer service skills

Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS)

Existing shipper/carrier relationships strongly preferred
